Bolivian Architecture

Bolivian Colonial Houses are often designed with an open walkway around the house. Above the walkway is a small ceiling structure, held up by columns. These ceilings help make sure you don't get wet when it rains. There are also places with plants and a patio, front and back of the house, that is a sort of reception room for guests. Most of these houses are made of stone, and the roof is covered in shingles. These houses also are usually quite simple, as it is appreciated by the common Spanish people and their descendants.
